Why does my dog not eat?
i have two dogs.. while one is a no hassle dog about food, the other one is very moody when it comes to eating.... first i used to think it's becoz he wants chicken all the time, but later when he didnt eat chicken even, i realised he was just being finicky about eating.. some days he eats his dry kibble without complaints, some other days he eats the ones mixed with milk as his brother loves them while some days he doesnt eat at all... skips at a stretch 3 4 meals... his health is fine as checked by the vet his gums are fine.... why does he do this? any insight???? his finicky habits stresses me out.. so i need to know why he does this...
How can I stop my dog from getting over excited when she see's people/dogs whilst out walking?
We adopted a rescue dog, she is a 22 month old boxer cross and when we are in the house she is as good as gold. She's very quiet, calm and I have two kids aged 3 and 4 and she is not bothered at all by them, she will happily sit and give her paw, she is learning to lie down and stay which is great The problems start when we leave the house... The first thing we noticed was how much she pulled on her lead so we have bought a 'Haltie' to train her to walk by our side and the difference is amazing. It's only been two days and she sometimes shakes her head to get it off but she is learning fast, BUT, if we see another dog she quite literally goes bananas she gets so excited we have to cross the road or turn back the other way until the other dog is out of sight It's the same with people, last night I was walking down the road and a young lad was walking towards us and as we passed him she suddenly lept up at him Luckily he seemed OK and used to dogs but if this had happened to me I would have been horrified I know training classes are probably the best solution and we are looking into that, but I would be VERY grateful for any advise what so ever because it is becoming a real problem
What happens if a dog eats a ghost pepper?
Can you train an 11 month old dog?
Hey, I have put a deposit on an 11 month old Rottweiler. He is at the lost dogs home and he is only $115. Hes been de sexed, vaccinated and chipped. When I first saw him in his cage he barked at me and then stopped. He would stop for a bit and then would start barking again but knowing Rottweilers they are guard dogs so I asked the lady about him anyway. She said that he came in the day before and offered me to go in the cage with him, I went in and he was very playful and licked my hands heaps, I could see that he was still acting like a pup even though he was a decent size. I fell in love with him and put a $10 deposit on him. She said that he will be ready on Tuesday because that's when all the tests will be done and they will have a better idea on hes temperament. I have looked at lots of different Rottweilers, looked at countless pups and have done my homework. I'm a very committed person who will not neglect him and would be willing to train him consistently. He was given up because the man that had him moved into a friends place in which they did not allow dogs. Is this dog a major risk? Can he be taught at his age? If you are a dog person please tell me your opinion.
If my dog had a litter of pups with Fading Puppy Syndrome, Is it likely to occur again if I breed her again?
My youngest had a litter of 6 pure bread Border Collie pups, And 5 have died as a result of FPS, I have never had this issue with any of my other bitches, is it likely to re occur if we breed with her again?
My cat and dog are acting a bit weird?
My cat who is about a year and a half old was outside today around 1 30 in the morning. I was still awake watching tv when I heard him meowing loud and he started banging on the door with his paw. It was strange cuz he hardly ever meows. I opened the door and stayed there for a couple of minutes and he was just there looking around and then he looked at me and meowed some more times. Then I closed the door and went to check on my dog. he's is 2 months old and I barely got him about 2 weeks ago. I looked at him and he was just walking around. Then he layed down and was just loooking around. I knocked on the window and he looked at me and started wagging his tail. Nothing out of the ordinary. it's just that i kinda expected him to be asleep.. 15 mins passed and I checked on my cat and he was in the back yard already sitting on his favorite chair just looking around.. I thought all of this was a little strange. Especially my cat meowing since he never meows.. But everything seemed fine again 15 mins later.. idk. Oh and I have another cat but he was no where to be seen cuz he's the type of cat who loves to hide into little spaces and is scared of everything. I'm a bit worried. what are they trying to tell me? what could it be?? Or i'm I just getting worried over nothing? serious answer please oh it's just that my cat has never banged on the door like that or meowed like that
Deciding on which dog to choose as a mate for my current 8 month old dog.?
Hi, I am currently looking at getting a little mate for my dachshund 8months . My concerns are that I'll get a dog that might change her personality..like an older dog. Is this true, can a dog's personality change a lot when you get another dog that's a little bit older. My current dog is a house dog and she follows me around everywhere, very lovable and playful and intellegent.Option one An older dog that needs rehoming she's not that old...but i'll just say old coz she's not as young is my current dog . The " older" dog is 2.4yrs old. She's very alert and a little bit of a barker when she sees somebody walk pass but I'm not too concerned about that. The other thing is, she's a bit dominant when it comes to food...thus will eat food quickly and go for other dog's food..so if i decide to get her, i'll most probably have to feed the two dogs separate. She had 2 litters before just mentioning , is a bit of a barker, food dominant and a champ show dog and I will continue to show her. Her current owner has fell very sick and thus the only reason for rehoming her. and the other option is to get a dog that is the same age as my current dog 8 months with more or less the same temperament. The only thing is, this dog will cost about $850 discounted amount as I know the breeder, thank goodness but I still cant really afford it I would just like to know if you had a simular situation, if you adopted another dog, did he she change your other dog's personality, or any advice that you can give would be much appreciated. Please no rude comments, i cant write a noval so just focus on what i'm asking here. If you need more info, just ask and i'll add it. I have my current dog at interest and just want to get her a mate. I'm also keen to show so the other dog for that reason would also be a good option, but how does dogs react to a new dog in the house or do their personalities change when you get another dog. I've always had one dog in my life 17yrs and when she passed i promised myself that when i get another dog, i'll get her a friend Thank you in advance for your replies.By " Mate" , I meant friend..sorry.....
What is the best dog food to feed my ALASKAN MALAMUTE?
My little girl is about 9 months old. She's a rescue, so she was severely neglected. She's about 64lbs right now, but still skin & bones. What's the best food I could feed her? She loves dry food, with a little bit of rice on top, or even canned white chicken or tuna. My other dog is a 5 year chunky monkey lab. I'd love to find a happy median to feed both of them, so they're both healthy and happy for years to come. Thank you, dog parents She doesn't have any health issues or worms or anything. The vet said she's in great shape.
Is my dog ready to go to the dog park?and how to prevent a possible fight?
i'm going to list out details so its quicker Got her in december She had fear aggresion issues worked through that with a trainer the most dogs we've had her with at once was a group of 6 during training She is sumissive towards other dogs and alot calmer now to the point where she will play with most Seems more confident with my other dog around we always take him if she is going some place with alot of dogs We have walked around the dog park fence, she seemed alittle skittish at first but now is confident around it Does she seem ready to go to the dog park? ..also there is a " puppy play group" at the humane society for any age dog depending on social level skills..does that sound like a better idea? For now atleast My mom is pretty sure that she will be fine but i'm still a bit nervous and don't want a fight breaking out..
How do i convince my mom to let me get a dog?

What is a quick, easy and chemical-free way to get rid of fleas on my dog?
My mom got a puppy of of free cycle, and I love her so much The only problem is that she has fleas, tons and tons of fleas We also have a little baby in the house, and I'm concerned for the puppy's and the baby's health. We are going to take the puppy to the vet, but it will probably be awhile and we don't have enough money for drug store remedies. Does anyone have an idea on how to get fleas off of my new puppy, before this infestation gets worse? We also have two cats and two kittens, so that's pouring salt on the wound. Please help
My uncle gave me a dog that he never registered before he's a year old what do I do first register him or shot?

What kind of dog is a kaloula kur?
This animal showed up at my dads house. He is a large puppy that would equal a medium size dog. He is brennel colored and I could be misspelling his type but this is what people keep saying he is and yet I can find nothing on that as a breed. If anyone could please help. Maybe that is a common name or a local name for something. I need info. and hopefully where to get more. Oh and no tail.
