What is a better dog breed dalmation or husky?
Okay i want a playful dog, a smart one. One thats not mean, but a good watchdog. Good with children. I love love dalmations and want one really bad, but heard they can get out of hand. My second choice would be a husky So tell me which dog is best and why. Thank yoouu
What dog breed is for me?
Currently i have a female Poo chon mini poodle bichon frise whom i love. I do want to get her a companion to keep her company when the house is empty.What is a smart, non shedding breed that is possibly known to bark little? Our current one barks a lot and can't be walked without a leash. Any breeds that are known for being able to walk leash free?Of course i'm not a " pure breed freak" . I have no interest in ignoring amazing mix breeds that need a home.Just wanted to know breeds for when i'm ready to get a second.
What dog breed should i get?
i have picked out 9 dogs that i have taken a liking to. I am relying on you guys to make the desition for me. so here is how my life goes. I am a 14 year old track and gymnastics star in Southern NJ. I practice gymnastics 5 days a week in for 10 hours total 2 hours each day in the fall and in the spring i practice track for 2 days. i would love to have a running partner to run along side me when i train, and i live in a 3 mile long development and am cable to go all that. I would also love to teach my dog to do agility and to go on hikes with me and my dad. This dog also has to get along with 3 kids not including me and a lazy cat that never moves. the kids ages are 4,7,11 and me 14 My dad does not want a dog that is too big but i want a dog that is able to protect me when i stay home alone. The dog should be able to sleep with me and not be to pushy. i have trained my neighbors dogs before but i have never actually owned and trained my very own dog. i do have time for the dog but i do not want to have to groom it every day. perhaps maybe on once or twice a week and a dog that doesn't shed all that much but i can deal with some shedding. I need a smart, athletic, playful, loving and devoted companion. here are the breeds 1. Australian shepherd2. belgian sheepdog3. belgian tervuren4. Brittany5. keeshond6. Labrador retriever7. schnauzer all three types 8. first of all, I am NOT going to breed my dog, she was spayed on tuesday, but I was just curious about something.If a pure breed dog was bred with a mix could u eventually get purebred puppies?For example, if a purebred labrador was bred with a collie lab mix, then their puppies were bred with another pure breed labrador, then the puppies of that were bred with a purebred labrador, after a while could the puppies be purebred? could the collie be bred our of them? this may seem like a stupid question but I was just thinking about it the other day.Thanks in advance for your answers

Smaller snuggly lap dog breeds?
I looking to find a breed of smaller dog. I want to be able to fully research the breed before I bring one into my home. Im looking for a companion. One who loves snuggles, and can be a couch potato, but also can keep up with me for daily walks and a few camping trips in the summer.I WAS looking into a sheltie, however am a bit taken back by the level of maintenance due to their length of fur. I dont mind occasional trips to the groomer, baths and the like...but I dont want our whole relationship to be based on keeping their coat trimmed, combed, and perfect.I do like Boston terriers, and Pugs etc...but their squished faces worry me for heated summer camping trips.Any suggestions? Opinions on Cavalier king Charles? one Im about to start researching
Can you help me with a dog breed dilemma?
I really love Lurchers Greyhounds Italian Greyhounds and Whippets, but we have 5 cats who live indoors and outdoors. I know lurchers greyhounds and whippets are in the sight hound group so this really makes me worry about them chasing and hurting our cats I would teach the dog to know that the cats are part of the pack but would that be enough? I would get the dog from a puppy.But then again I know Italian Greyhounds are in the toy group again I would get as a puppy so does that mean that it has a smaller prey drive, or it's more possible to adjust them to living peacefully with cats? Thank you

I recently graduated from Culinary. I had taken Business Management, Animal Behavior and Animal Care Dog from Penn Foster Yes, it took awhile . I recently was married to a wonderful husband who loves animals just as much as I do.I run a small baking business out of my home where I bake Cakes and other goodies.Me and my Husband just recently talked about getting a few puppies. Our Daughters Who are 13 or older currently live with us along with my College Roommate, Lisa. All of us want puppies really bad so we've been discussing. While I have trained in Animal Behavior and Dog Care, my husband has trained in Vet School. He currently does not work as a vet though.We talked about getting a Golden Retriever. But we want some small dogs too. Any suggestions?To everyone who replied Each one of us want our own dogs. Lisa wants the Golden Retriever, not me. I want a small dog that's non shedding.
