What is another good dog food brand for puppies other than Science Diet?
My puppy will not eat her Science Diet dry food. I originally fed her pedigree and a lady at the pet store talked me into switching brands. My puppy liked it a lot and only ate it for about a month or two and now she just seems like she's gotten tired of it and wont eat her food. I tried mixing it with Science Diet canned food and only eats the the wet food. What is the best mix for making your own dog food I have a yorkshire terrier?
At present my dog is eating people food which includes ham, beef, cheese, angus beef hot dogs, spaghetti o's, or whatever we may be having for dinner. She also likes raw carrots, pickles, green grapes, and a few other odd things for a dog. She is a 16 month old Yorkshire Terrier and has refused to eat any kind of dogfood since I got her at 8 weeks old. After hearing the horriflying stories regarding dog food and it's ingredients, I am terrified to try to even feed her any kind of store bought food. I would like a few suggestions from those of you who have created a healthy good mix of dog food on your own.

I have had a Border Collie Australian Sheperd mix for almost a year now and have had her on Beneful Playful Life the entire time, simply because it has a resealable bag. I am looking to start my pup shes a year and 3 months or so old on an agility training schedule which I think will require a more precise nutrient and calorie requirement. What kind of dog food brands are out there that are geared toward high maintenance dogs?To clarify abit we run 2 miles every morning atleast 5 times a week she stays outside all day, in at night she trail rides with me and my horses I regularily take her to a field and play with her for several hoursSo... she is already an active dog. What's the best way to encourage your dog to eat dog food instead of cat food?
My 11 month old female Chihuahua Feist has this bad habit of sneaking a bite of cat food every now and then, and she seems to expect to be hand fed her wet food she'll eat her dry food without any encouragement I guess the problem is that A I've spoiled her a little, and B when I first got her, I had to feed her cat food until I could go out and by some dog good probably should have prepared my home for her beforehand . I want her to stop eating cat food and eat her dog food with me hand feeding her, but I don't want to do things like pen her up in a kennel or anything like that?The idea of keeping the cat food out of reach did cross my mind, but one of my cats is fat and, as a result, a poor jumper if I put the cat food where my dog can't reach it, then neither can my fat cat.Also, I don't do scheduled feedings in the morning, I give my pets enough fresh food to last the day and let them eat when they get hungry. In other words, I let my pets decide when feeding time is. It works perfectly for my cats, but I don't know about my dog. Usually I try to get my dog to eat her wet food when I first serve it, after dinner, and at nine o'clock.

I just bought Orijen dog food today from my vet. I did some research on it, and most people love it, however, some posts have said that it now has citric acid in it i checked and it does is this bad for my dog? if so, what is a high quality dog food? I got him from some guy how lived by my sister and she told me that all he would feed him is human food. Looking for the best shredded blend dog food.?
My dog is a picky eater but I have found that she likes to eat shredded dog food better b c of the softer pieces in it, she doesn't like JUST the dry unless I mix in wet. I'm looking for a good food for her. Any help would be great. I KNOW its not the best but she is on Kibbles n Bits, so please no lecture on that. Its not a money issue at all. I'm just trying to find the best dog food for her and need some help.
Dog Food (switching to Orijen)?
I'd like to switch my lab's food over to Orijen adult. The shop near me carries it. So I bought a 5lb bag just to start mixing it in with her regular. She currently eats Innova green bag and she's been on that for 1.5yrs. Its only been decent and I probably should have switched a long time ago. She does only ok on Innova. But I have been on this grain free kick. My dog came from a field trial breeder and was eating Canidae ALS since 8 Weeks. She ate that for her first 1.5yrs before I switched over to Innova. The breeder currently uses Orijen food for his field trial dogs I learned and he swears by it and his dogs have been on it for the last 2 years with no issues yet. But Innova protein is at 24 % while Orijen is at 40 %. Vet told me that's a lot of protein on the kidney. He said he has never heard of Orijen but knows of Innova EVO that seems similar but he doesn't like that stuff. Said if my dog is not hunting or in field trials its not needed. I think he might need to relearn nutrition but anyway...thoughts on Orijen Adult? Anyone out there used this food for a long time?
