DS: Have you ever changed dog foods?
This could be due to health issues, your dog getting bored of the food, price issues, or recall of the food. I have changed from Halo to Canidae. Just because it was cheaper but still higher quality.
Best dog food or safest dog food brands?
We just adopted a dog from a shelter she hasn't arrived yet a collie mix, and I was wondering if there were any precautions i should take when choosing her food. For example what brands are particularly bad and are to stay away from or what brands are especially good but more of a reasonable price range. Were looking at dry dog food. Thanks for your help DThanks for everyone's help, I am still open to brand name suggestions but if homemade is better does anyone have any good recipies?

How should I start feeding me puppy raw dog food?
Ok, so I have an 8 week old Dogue de Bordeaux French Mastiff and I've been strongly researching the pros and cons of a raw diet. And I decided I am going to go ahead and try it out. I haven't talked to my vet about this yet, but I have talked to people that own their own pet stores about it. Instead of going and buying raw meat from producers off the internet, I'm going to go to my local grocery store and butcher shops, simply because it will be ALOT cheaper to feed my soon to be big boy. Ok, now that that's out of the way, this is my question How, exactly, should I do this? Is it really as easy as seeing what's on sale at the grocery store, buying it, then plopping the right proportions in front of my pup? It just seems too easy Also, if anyone knows, what's best to feed a fast growing puppy, nutrition wise? Oh yeah, and is there any part of an animal that shouldn't be fed to him? Or a certain type of animal? If anyone knows anything at all, please let me know. I just want to get as much input on this as I can. Thank you
Is royal canin dog food good for 7 wek chow chow puppy to eat?

Royal Canin Dog Food?
Does anyone have their dog s on this brand?I have a picky dog and bought a small bag of the food for German Shepards that's what she is today and when I added it with her dinner feeding I noticed she went through and picked this brand out and left the other stuff. This is a good sign, right?I'm just in between trying her on different brands because she's so picky. She'll eat the food fine for a few days then stop eating it all together.I've checked out all of the pet stores here for Blue Buffalo because I'm had it suggested to me and nowhere around here sells it. I've also looked for Wellness and they don't sell it either.Any other brand suggestions? I only got the Royal Canin because I've had a TON of people suggest it to me saying their German Shepard loves it. I even did research on it and found nothing.
Homemade Dog Food Recipe?
I'm worried that my dog isn't eating often enough, and I think her blood sugar drops because of it, and then probably spikes once she does eat. So, I wanted to start cooking the dog food for her, and dividing into 3 meals a day. If it's warm and smells good, aka human food, she will eat it. I recipe I came across online was 2 cups rice1 2 pound hamburger meat1 teaspoon vegetable oil1 2 cup carrots4 cups waterPut all ingredients into a large pot, boil until done, then cool off and serve. I was planning to throw it into the blender quickly when adding in her vitamins. Is this a good, healthy recipe for my dog??I'm also aware she will need vitamins added in, what will she need, and how much??She is a Chihuahua, slim, a bit long, approx. 6 pounds, spayed, nearly 4 years old.If that recipe isn't good, please feel free to give me the one you use, complete with amounts of everything including vitamins, and I will tweak it to work for the size of my dog.Thanks.Just to clarify, my dog is eating high quality dry kibble right now, not the recipe I posted, which is just an example of what I'm looking for. I am asking for recipes so I can start to cook for her.
What type of Dog Food should I get?
I'm planning on getting a small dog, a Toy Poodle to be exact. I would really like to know what type of dog food I should get for my puppy. I want the puppy to be healthy, strong, active, and alert. I'm curious as to what food is the best for a small dog.
Dog food... Everything gives my pup the trots.!!?
Ever since i got my Akita, Mia. I haven't found a food that agrees with her yet. When she poops it's not watery, it's just not, you know.. solid. I keep her on each food for two months to see if one suits her but so far each just runs through her It's not like she won't eat the food, cause she will eat ANYTHING Does anyone know any foods that are high in Fiber or Protein that they know are good... Maybe a higher fiber diet would be helpful?Any suggestions would be great Oh She's Five months old if that helps and usually eats wet and dried food mixed. I've tried different combination's but nothing works. She's already been wormed and checked by the vet ... nothingI only changer her food if after a month or so on the food it hasn't changed ANYTHING at all ... i'm not frivolously changing the dogs food for the laugh of it.The food at the moment is called Red mill but it's a working dog's food.Pedigree, Purina, and Almo nature dog food.
