Why wont my dog sleep at night anymore?
Hi, I have had a shiba inu puppy for over a year now hes about a year and a half old. the other day he would not stop whining, which has complelty stopped my families abilty to sleep. Idk what to do about him or why hes started this behavior. I can give more details if it'll help solve this problem.I definetly dont walk him as much as I should but he was getting along fine for the past month, lately though hes been refusing to play with anything in his crate or even going into the crate. Could that be like an anxiety issue with the crate? On another note im sure that i have encouraged the bad behavior by acknowledging it. Im going to contact my vet and take care of this issue from there
Will my dog hate me if i keep spanking him?
our dog keeps ruining our garden.he keeps digging the soil with no particular reason.i get ticked of and i grabbed him and i kept on hitting him on the head and saying " don't do this" or " don't do it here" will he think that i'm a bad person if i keep doing this?

I don't know how to explain this but lately dogs have really liked me for example my parents dogs don't like me at all. When I am sleeping at my parents house for breaks and visits, my mom always wakes me up for church with making the dogs jump on my bed. Anyways the dogs dread being in my room, let alone on the bed. But when I came down for spring break, one of the dogs ran in my room the morning after driving home jumped on my bed and layed right next to me. It was weird and the other dog layed on the floor. Then I went to my girlfriends house and all the dogs there were unusually nice to me as well. I herd that dogs can sense things, does any one know whats going on? Does this sound unusual to anyone else?

Our family has been considering getting a dog for a few months and we have decided on a large or extra large breed.We are able to take care of a dog this size and have the proper environment to give as much exercise as needed, except to the point of a super active dog like a Border Collie, we're in the suburban area and don't have acreage for that.I personally have experience owning a Siberian Husky who was a real alpha female. She lived with me, and eventually my wife for a good long 13 years, so demanding and dominant dog breeds are okay.Hopefully someone can help us narrow down the list of some 700 breeds even further to the breed that is right for us.We do have a few we are considering already though, so I will post them here, and if a few seem 'off', then feel free to say so Borzoi,Saluki,English Springer Spaniel,Collie,German Shepard,And the good old Golden Retriever.If you can suggest a breed that may be better, or agree on one that's listed, please do so, I'm thankful of any input towards this decision.Thank you all for your input, it helps more than you thinkEspecially you Chloe, such a detailed answer with great suggestions, ideas, and links.. and we will definitely look into 'Newfies', from what I'm now reading they're a very lovely breed.
Old dog, back legs going need advice please?
i am looking after my mums dog for a week while she is on hols, and im concerned about him, hes 14 so hes old and his back legs have been weakening over the past year. i dont see him as much now and i was shocked when my mum brought him round last night, he can only walk a couple of steps before his back legs collapse under him, if he lies down a bit he can walk a bit more, his legs shake when hes not moving, he doesnt seem unhappy but im just really concerned about the way forward now, can anyone give me any advice please?
Dogs Can't Remember Bad Things They Have Done?
I'm just wondering if this is actually true. All the sites i've looked at for dog training say if you leave the house and come back a few hours later, you can't scold your dog for anything it did while you were gone because it won't remember. Is there any proof of this? I only ask because my dog used to get into the trash quite often when I left the house. When I got home he would be excited to see me, but as soon as I would walk into the kitchen, he would see that I saw the trash all over the place, and his tail would immediately go between his legs and he would go hide somewhere. I scolded him every time, and he stopped eventually. So why do all these sites seem to think that dogs can't remember doing this stuff?
Dog has dry cracked nose why?
my dog has always got a warm,dry,cracked nose.does anyone know why?.my other dogs nose is cold & wet.should i be concerned?
