just curious how many people agree with dog fighting, i dont... i was just wondering if there r pple like that out there. so wat do u think of dog fighting?im doing this for a college paper, im arguing against it.
What is a GREAT pro dog grooming clipper for large dog?
I have a couple of German Shepherds lots of thick hair and an Akita. Wondering if anyone knows of a powerful clipper that trims easily. I've looked on Ebay, but not sure which brand to look for.Thanks for any advice Ella
To experienced or pro dog trainers: Gunshy Lab Pup?
my lab is about 5 1 2 months old and i've begun introducing him to gunshots. I've tried to keep the outings positive but he's still terrified. I know some believe will say not to even try before 6 months.. but i did and it's done. I've tried a lesser noise from a blackpowder pistol w only the cap, but it doesn't make any difference. If you've had this problem and have treated it successfully, I'd love the help I've had him from 10 weeks.. so I know he hasn't had any noise trama, etc.
I wanna be a pro dog trainer...?
I want to be certified to train dogs, to teach people that is, to teach an 8 or 12 week session or something like that.. how to train their dogs, and possibly soon after owning and running my own kennel. Before owning my own kennel, though, how much money can i expect to earn by training people's dogs, and training them to train their own dogs, and even walking dogs too?I've looked at payscale.com and salary.com and other like sites, but they don't give me exactly what i want. i'm looking for the combination of a dog trainer and a person trainer guy who trains people how to train their animals? i live in a college town virginia tech's blacksburg.. ... also, what is the best schooling that would allow me to accomplish these things? anyone with any experience with any of those job descriptions welcomed to answer..and yes, i know it won't pay too great, but i do live in a college community... hopefully i would be able to create a reasonably good sized clientel...
How can I become a pro dog trainer?
I'm 13 and when I grow up i want to own a small service and rescue dog program. i live in kodiak alaska and there aren't very many things training wise in alaska do you have to have some sort of license to train service dogs? What and where is the best school to become a certified pro dog trainer?
I want to learn how to train dogs for task such as helping dog, ie seeing eye dogs, search and rescue. I know nothing about how to look for a school or course and to get into the buisness. Anyone with any info will be a great help Thank you

Heeler owners/breeders and Pro. dog trainers?
Breeder Hi, im 16 years old and ive fallen in love with the heeler breed. Ive got 4 heelers. I dont live with my mom...i would eventualy like to show breed heelers to help improve the breed. Id like to know how you began, what you strive for? How do you being showing? EVERYTHING that you can tell me to get started. i wont be starting soon...but at least i will know what i need. Trainers Ive always been good with dogs. I work at the spca, and have even worked with aggressive dogs succsessfuly...one was a dog man child aggressive rottie. Ive done LOTS of research etc. on dealing with aggressive dogs shy dogs etc. Ive even got an apprentiship with a dog trainer here. How did you get started? Favored methods? Schools? etc anything and everything u can tell me.

Now before i say what i need to say, i would like to make this clear please Do not tell me to get help from a professional, I can do this myself, All i want is advice on what i can do to stop this.Okay so i got my female pit when she was 8 weeks old, She is now 1 years old and 2 months....We have had her at the vet many times for checkups, She is very healthy dog and up to date on everything.So i know this is not the problem.She is EXTREMELY whiney and needy. Since we got her all she does all day is whine over everything Like seriously its starting to get over whelming My baby is due in January, When we lock her out of the room " getting her use to not being with us always for when the baby comes" She will whine and scream and cry THE WHOLE TIME even when she is in the room with us, she will just sit there and whine I mean i wont lie, We do spoil her, and she gets her way all the time..Making it only our fault, i will admit that and take the blame for it...So NOW i just want some advice on what we can do to make her not so needy and whiny and spoiled..We have been trying to ignore her but after awhile i just cant take it anymore and let her have her way. And now with the baby almost here i have to try hard to stop this...There is not many trainers were i live, the ones we do have around here are to expensive, i Know with a little advice on what to do, i can do this myself. She will work better with me anyways. So please do not tell me to get one. Just advice on some steps i can take to stop her from doing this all day long If you need me to edit and add any more information i will gladly do it..I usually hate posting in this section because people can be very judgmental and rude. Please just don't even bother if you're going to be. I do not need it, I want to be in a good mood today its the new years and happy new years to you all as we speak the dog is whining omg i am ready to pull the hair out of my head.My dogs NEVER bite or fight EVER.EVERRRRRRRRRRRthey are sweet to pieces.And for the people being rude, i will just report you. I tried crate training her, Just did not work, We have an extra room we put a gate up in, With a blanket and toys.And she goes for walks, she is outside a lot she loves it out there...We have a HUGE fenced in backyard, we take her out 2 3 times a day and let her run around with our other dog..they love to run and play out there.haha yea she def has separation issues, When we walk out of a room and leaver her alone, she will bark and cry like " Hey were are you going " Also with the toy thing..Man they got some strong jaws..I have not found ONE toy they they do not destroy in seconds, We even spend like 15 dollars on ONE toy that says " durable" next thing you now there is rubber everywhere and she is eating it Any advice on toys i can buy that ARE EXTREMELY durable?thank you all for the great adviceI usually do walk her, But were i live there is no side walks, and CRAZY redneck drunk drivers, And me being 9 months pregnant i just dont feel safe...BUT as soon as the baby comes, and my husband is inside with the baby, I will be taking my dogs on walks everyday because i am going to need exercise myself That is when my man is home, he works and works hard, so when he comes home he likes to rest. but def when i am done being pregnant, my dogs will be helping me lose weight
